Notice
FSC 2010 Tryouts have been postponed

Try-Out times may have to be adjusted for these new dates, and a revised tryout schedule will be posted on the FSC website as soon as information is available.

Thank you for considering trying out for a Falmouth travel soccer team. Spring travel teams offer an opportunity beyond recreational soccer for player development and competition in a statewide system of age-level play. Our goals for the 2010 season are three-fold: increase player knowledge of the game, build on team tactics and, most importantly, to keep the game safe and fun for all involved with an emphasis on good sportmanship.

With this opportunity comes a level of commitment we expect from all players selected for a team. Please read the following carefully:

1) Winter indoor league or practices - most teams schedule games in one of the nearby dome facilities (Plymouth or Bridgewater) or at a minimum practices during the winter, and attendance at these activities is crucial for team cohesion and development/maintenance of skills.

2) Outdoor practice - to begin after the end of the indoor season in March, weather permitting. At least one practice a week, with additional practices towards the end if post-season play is earned. Required: water bottle, shin guards.

3) Spring travel season - 8 weekly games on Saturdays or Sundays, beginning in lat March and ending early in June (no games Easter or Memorial Day weekends). There is a fee of $90 per player per season to pay for league fees and game referees. Possible tournaments: Memorial Day in Sandwich and Mass. Tournament Of Champions (late June).

Coaches will notify boys within one week with results of the tryout.

Players should have a parent or guardian with them at the start of tryouts to complete a medical waiver and other paperwork. Players should also bring a ball and something to drink.

Tryout information for older players (U15 and above) will also be posted shortly. Those tryouts will not take place until near the completion of the high school sports season.
