Registration Information

Thank you for volunteering to coach a Falmouth Soccer Club (FSC) travel soccer team! We hope you and the players find it a rewarding experience. This information is intended to help you assemble and register your team for the upcoming season. It lists important dates and procedures you must follow to ensure your team is qualified for South Coast Soccer League (SCSL) play in the spring. Please pay careful attention to the dates – it may seem there is a lot to do in a short period of time, but if you follow the schedule it will go quite smoothly and we can all enjoy the year.

We invite you to attend regular FSC meetings, or to contact any of the Club officers if you require further information. Good luck!

2007

October 3/4 -- Registration for Spring Travel Soccer at the Rec Center. Players are asked to bring:

1)  A 1" x 1" head/shoulders photo. Larger photos will not fit on the player pass card and may obscure the signature area.
2)  A check for $90.00 made out to “Falmouth Soccer Club”
3)  Players not registered during the Spring 2007 season must furnish a copy of their birth certificate. Baptism and confirmation certificates are NOT acceptable substitutes.

MYSA Membership forms must be filled out by all players. Please make sure the forms are legible.

October 13/14 -- Tryouts for Spring Travel Soccer. Coaching positions finalized based on turnout. See age group listing for proper player affiliation. Players may “play up” with one age group older without additional paperwork, but coaches must submit written justification for a player to play up two years. No player may play up more than two years, nor in a younger age group. Coaches must complete a mandatory online CORI/KidSafe form. Coaches only need to complete this form once; CORI checks will be performed each year by MYSA but there is no need to submit subsequent forms.

October 22 -- All players will be notified prior to this date whether or not they made a team. Minimum of 6 players per team for U09/U10, minimum of 11 players for all older teams. Maximum team size is 18 players for U11 and above Division 1 teams, 22 players for all Division 2 teams.

October 23 - November 9 -- Team paperwork package submitted during this period to the Falmouth registrar. This material, to be collected by the head coach and submitted together, must include:
1) Draft player roster, including names (in alphabetical order), address and telephone number. Coach name(s), address, phone and email must also be listed. Maximum two coaches per registered team, but a team manager may also be identified as a third adult. Sample rosters can be obtained here.
2) A copy of the MYSA membership form for each player (original is kept by the coach). Make sure all MYSA forms are complete and legible, including birth date and parent signature.

November 10 - December 1 -- Falmouth registrar creates an official roster, coach and player pass cards from the submitted package and delivers them back to coaches for team gathering (see below).

December 10 -- Falmouth declares spring team listing to SCSL and submits rosters. No new teams may be formed after this point, although players may be added to teams through the following May. No refunds of player registration fee after this point.

December 1 - 20 -- Coaches hold a team gathering.

Have players and coaches sign the pass cards and affix photos to the back of pass cards where indicated (use a glue stick – no staples or tape). Make sure all cards have photo and signature affixed properly. Here is what the finished card should look like:

Coach signs the official roster, attaches birth certificates to the appropriate cards and returns the completed package to the Falmouth registrar. Checks go to the Club treasurer. Note: completed cards and rosters due before December 20!
