Registration Information

Thank you for volunteering to coach a Falmouth Soccer Club (FSC) travel soccer team! We hope you and the players find it a rewarding experience. This information is intended to help you assemble and register your team for the upcoming season. It lists important dates and procedures you must follow to ensure your team is qualified for South Coast Soccer League (SCSL) play in the spring. Please pay careful attention to the dates – it may seem there is a lot to do in a short period of time, but if you follow the schedule it will go quite smoothly and we can all enjoy the year.

We invite you to attend regular FSC meetings, or to contact any of the Club officers if you require further information. Good luck!

2009

October 17/18 -- Tryouts for Spring Travel Soccer. Coaching positions finalized based on turnout. See age group listing for proper player affiliation. MYSA Membership forms must be filled out by all players. Please make sure the forms are legible. Coaches keep these forms as medical waivers.

Coaches must submit written justification for a player to play up two years. No player may play up more than two years, nor in a younger age group.

A waiver is required for any player residing in a town other than Falmouth.

Coaches must complete a mandatory online CORI/KidSafe form. Coaches only need to complete this form once; CORI checks will be performed each year by MYSA but there is no need to submit subsequent forms.

Children of coaches are exempt from the Club payer fee.

November 2 -- All players will be notified prior to this date whether or not they made a team. Minimum of 6 players per team for U09/U10, minimum of 11 players for all older teams. Maximum team size is 18 players for U11 and above Division 1 teams, 22 players for all Division 2 teams.

October 19- December 1 -- Players and coaches register on line via link on FSC home page. Non-internet registration is also possible via the coach.

Team roster submitted by the coach to the Falmouth registrar.

Coach collects from players:
1)  A 1" x 1" head/shoulders color photograph (no photocopies) for the pass card. Larger photos will not fit on the player pass card and may obscure the signature area.
2 ) A photocopy of a certified town birth certificate for any player who has not played for Falmouth in previous seasons. Hospital certificates, passports and driver's licences are acceptable substitutes, but baptism and confirmation certificates are not. If a player's name is different from the birth bertificate, supporting documentation must be provided.
3) Checks from any players who did not pay on line

December 1 - 20 -- Falmouth registrar creates an official roster, coach and player pass cards and delivers them back to coaches.

Coaches sign coach pass cards (players no longer have to sign cards) and affixes photos to the back of all pass cards where indicated (use a glue stick – no staples or tape). Here is what a finished coach card should look like:

Coach signs the official roster, attaches any birth certificates to the appropriate cards and returns the completed package to the Falmouth registrar. Checks go to the Club treasurer. Note: completed cards and rosters due before December 20!

December 7 -- Falmouth declares spring team listing to SCSL and submits preliminary rosters. No new teams may be formed after this point, although players may be added to teams through the following May. No refunds of player registration fee after this point.
